An All-Russia Armwrestling Tournament „Anas” took place 28-30 of March in Chistopol, a town situated on charming Kama riverside. Sportsmen from 23 regions of Russia had came. An Ukrainian legend, Andrey Pushkar had came too so one can say it was an international level tournament!

There were 4 distunguished sport champions, 3 international class sport champions and many many champions among the competitors. There were many champions and prize winners of European and World Championships. So the level of the contest had to be high. The men competited in weight classes: 60,75, 90,110 kg and in open category. The women fought in open category only. The juniors competited in following classes: girls – 60 kg and 60 kg plus, boys – 65, 75 and 75 plus kg.

An armlifting competition was an additional attraction of the tournament. The chistopol culture Palas auditorium was overcrowded. The sport fans filled the hall and entrances too. Everyone wanted to watch the famous guests and not less distinguished local sportsmen. „Distinguished” becouse they had already collected 62 World and European Championships medals. Sportsmen of Chistopol could not disappoint their fans. And they did not.

First Elena Koroleva, Adela Fazdalova and Violetta Muftahutdinova won all the places on podium in 60 kg category. Victoria Voronina, Iliuza Gatiatullina i Ksenia Zoriankina achieved the same in plus 60 kg. A guest from Dagestan, Mahometvilli Khalikov won the first place in under 21 juniors 75 kg category. The second was citizen of Chistopol Salavat Kadyrov, a World and European Championships multi-medalist. The third was Artur Makarov from Kazan.

The rivalry in woman's open class was the most intriguing and spectacular one. It was not a long time ago when a sportswoman from Chistopol Viktoria Voronina had to quit the competition at Russian Championship for health reason. It was after her winning against Alina Samotoy, a World, Europe and Russia Champion. Then the time to settle who was who had come. Victoria did not disappointed her fans and won both the left and the right hand fights. She became an absolute winner of the All-Russia Armwrestling Tournament „Anas”. The second was an international class sport champion Egenia Fomina, the third Alina Samotoy from Moscow.
