Not so long ago, the second WAL tournament took place in Las-Vegas. A lot of well-known armwrestlers took part in it: John Brzenk, Devon Larratt, Dave Chaffee, Todd Hutchings, Jeff Hale, Allen Fisher, Christian Binnie and many others.

Certainly, an audience waited to watch the fight between Devon Larratt, who is one of the favorite heavy-weights, and Dave Chaffee, whose name is on everyone’s mouth after his victory with Denis Tsyplenkov. And when the tournament started, the results came quickly: Dave beat his rival and became a champion.

– I won two important matches in WAL without a defeat in right hand - says Dave. – The first significant event was the victory over Travis Bagent and the second one over Devon Larrat. These victories were great. And I am really happy for these results. I am especially pleased not with the title of heavyweight champion, but with the victory over Devon Larratt.

By the way, after Chaffee’s victory over Larratt, active discussions took place all over the Internet. Some have argued that Dave really won, but others claimed that judges simply gave Chaffee victory.

– It is really hard to talk about victory, when watching the videos – says Dave.

Some people say that his hand touched the pad, others say that referees stopped the match too fast. But anyway I would have won this fight. Devon is not in best shape after his surgery and it was his first tournament after rehabilitation. He was undefeated in left hand. We have to give him some time to show all he can.

Behind the scenes Dave Chaffee had a fight with the legendary John Brzenk who, by the way, came first in his category. Sure, fights after competition are not significant, but Brzenk looked totally helpless against Chaffee. What happened: was John tired or has his time passed?

– I am sure that the time of John Brzenk has not passed – said Dave. – He still is one of the best armwrestlers on the planet. I just hope that my time has come. I do my best to beat the strongest sportsmen because I want to be the best all over the world.

Dave Chaffee shocked the audience when he beat Denis Tsyplenkov. Now he has the victory over Larratt on his list. In future Dave has A1 in Russia, Nemiroff World Cup in Poland and some WAL events. It is important to notice that WAC is also interested in Chaffee. He is also invited to TOP-16, which starts at the end of 2014-beginning 2015.
