Besides the birth of my 3 children, there are 2 days that are the most important to me. The first is the day I met my wife Kara, on August 18th 2002. She is my rock, my partner in life through all the good and bad.. I am so blessed to have her by my side. I knew when I first talked to her, that we would be together... And the other most important day was January 21st, 1998. I was arrested. This changed my life completely. Although I am a retired Correction Officer (worked in jails). I now was on the other side. However, I did NOT do jail time, I did home confinement and probation. But it follows you forever, especially with the Internet, cause people can just google your name and see everything. It effects everyone around you, your family, friends, etc. People look at me differently now, 16years later. Its difficult to find work. My older son gets comments from friends too. You see my case was famous where I lived in New York and throughout the country. It was all over the local and National news.

So once people find out, it never goes away. I now try not to hide from it because of the Internet, so I turn it around positively and try to talk to people about negatives of being arrested and what it does to someone and how it never goes away. In hopes that people stay out of trouble...

I know you asked for 1 day but can I add one more? Here it is....This is the FIRST day that changed my life... On July 4th 1979, our Countries Independence day, I was 16 and with a group of friends on a field. We were lighting off fireworks. From behind me, a friend shouted, " look out." And I looked and something exploded in my face. Someone had put a very large, strong firework cracker in a beer bottle and threw it.. Not realizing it was going at me. I had over 500 pieces of glass taken our of the left side of my face, and left arm. And 25 pieces of glass taken out of my left eye. I still have glass in my left eye, face, left arm and left hand. They couldn't get it all out. I had many surgeries to my eye to save it. Even trough they saved my eye I'm blind in it. I see double, have bad depth perception.
