What’s the real limit for this Canadian armwrestler? ()
Devon Larratt. So many rumors surround him, so many events that people want to see him in. Is he going to inherit the armwrestlig crown from John Brzenk? Dare we call him the icon of modern armwrestling?
There can be no doubt that he is one of the best armwrestlers in the world. He has all that is needed to face any opponent on earth, at least in left hand. In his own opinion, his left hand is now “in top battle mode”, co he’s not afraid to take on anyone. After a surgery and log rehabilitation, his right arm is still not in great shape. After a WAL tournament in July it turned out that Devon is far from his best, all because of the time he sacrificed to rehabilitate the right arm. It was because of that arm that he took 3rd place, after Dave Chaffee and Brandon Bodine.
Rcently there has been a lot of talk about a Tsyplenkov – Larratt confrontation. As of today, this would be possible only in left arm. We won’t speculate here what the outcome would be – that has been talked about in other articles. The table will decide.
Will Larratt get back in shape? Or get even better? Will he become the world’s leader, right after John Brzenk? After beating the living legend 6-0 many had that thought in their head – Larratt is Brzenk’s successor. John had a lot of injuries in his life. Some were so serious that they were a threat to his further carreer. But John pushed on and fought on. Only a few couldn’t face him, for example Alan Karaev and Alexey Voevoda, who left armwrestling. But then age became his worst enemy. Now John cannot face the modern giants of armwrestling. Larratt is 39 years old, a good age for development. Devon is full of energy, strength and he’s ready to win.
“No limits” – that’s what Devon is called by fans, fighters and himself. Does he really have no limits? He’s resistant – there’s no doubt about that. No wonder armfights are his element. They require not only strength, but also stamina over time. Will Larratt regenerate quick enough and become the world leader?
Devon still has time to “patch up” and heal. He declared his will to enter the TOP 16 project, about to launch in 2015. Then we’ll see how “unlimited” he is.
