I know that you hold national armwrestling championships for long time...

There are armwrestling competitions in Brazil since 1949, but our federation was founded only in 1994, and armwrestling federation for the disabled was launched in 1995 in Brazil. But as I remember, Brazilian team always participated in all different international championships for disabled.

Who takes part in these championships?

In armwrestling championships for disabled in Brazil are invited and try take part all 27 Brazilian slates, but only the states of Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, Parana, Paraiba and Maranhao have disabled athletes.

Do you cooperate with your national Paralympic committee?

We are contacting the Brazilian Paralympic Committee and want them to accept us as a member.

Do you think the creation of International Armwrestling Federation for Deaf and Disabled is a step forward for armwrestling?

In my opinion it was excellent decision – to found IAFD. It is really big step for the armwrestling enter the Paralympics games.

Are you pleasured with your team results on this championship?

It was the first IAFD’s Championship and I am happy with the event. Unfortunately, we had several categories had few athletes, but all my team did their best and achieved a satisfactory result.
