For April Fools, a Ukrainian fighter made a humorous show about armwrestling. ()
Everyone can find something interesting in the internet. Millions of people work hard for billions of others to feel great when surfing the web.
Pawel Mintyan is one of few armwrestler-activists of the virtual armwrestling world. He’s 20 years old, works at an online store, has been armwrestling for 3 years, and in his free time he shares with other vkontakte users his funny and instructive videos.
- These days I’m in the up to 80 kg category – says Pawel. – I placed 2nd in Kiev this year, losing gold because of fouls in the finals. I have no great achievements in armwrestling so far, but I’m only beginning. I began making training videos back when I was training Street Workout. I’ve been making videos since 2010, I like the whole process, from the shooting to the audience reactions.
I started talking to the camera about armwrestling for one reason – to share my experiences with those who are interested in them. It’s good to be useful and I like it a lot when people thank me for my work. Popularization of our sport is my main goal.
There are a few videos by Pawel, in which he talks about the secrets of specialized training, or apps that allow for better training planning. For April Fools, he made a funny video about armwrestling. The video was well received, and many people want to see a second part.
- I do plan to shoot at least one more part of this project – says Pawel. – If the audience still likes it, I might shoot more. Funny-style videos always get a better reception that just talking.
Indeed, when we look at armwrestling videos, we rarely see anything less serious. If the “funny armwrestling” project gets a wider audience, maybe this genre of armwrestling video will stay with us for longer. Maybe that’s what’s missing?
