Is intelligent training possible? ()
Mikhail Shavaleyev, multiple champion of Tiumenia, winner of Russian Cups and Master of Sports – he knows how a serious and rational training should look like. Today we focus on this process.
Supplements are a necessary part of diet for many sportsmen. They allow for more energetic workouts, faster development and regeneration. Everyone should choose their own supplements. Mikhail tried many of them and found his perfect combination.
I use testosterone boosters and combine two different products, usually – says Mikhail. – I take multivitamins and minerals. I always carry whey with me, because it’s a fast way to have a meal when you can’t have a real one. Before a workout, or during a long one, I take amino-acids, and I use pre-training formulas, depending on the goal of my workout. Before a fight I take a boosting formula, and before a workout a “pump” formula – they help me reach my maximum bloodflow.
Mikhail also uses chondroprotectors – before and after tournaments.
Recently I used glucosamine injections – says Mikhail. – I had good effects, my stamina grew a lot more than after pills. Also, before a tournament, I pay a lot of attention to my vitamin C intake, because it quickens collagen synthesis and raises stamina. It’s not worth it to take creatine (except off-season), because it draws water into the muscles, which leads to quicker muscle fatigue during a fight.
Mikhail monitors his health closely, he uses a lot of regeneration training. He takes regular tests to establish his weak spots and ways to fix them. In the next article Mikhail will tell us about healthy armwrtestling.
