Zolcinski vs Gould sounds like a tough hook battle. We know Mike Gould from his tough left hand matches against Larratt who is one of the very best left handers in the world. First time i have ever seen Gould pulling was in 1996 WAF Worlds in Virginia Beach where he took 2. place to Eric Woelfel. He is known both as a great puller and organisor of one of the best pro events in the world that is called Mike Gould's Classic which i once participate in 2005. His opponent Zolcinski is a very powerful athlete from Poland, i have seen him giving a tough match to Ivan Matyushenko in 2013 WAF if i am not mistaking. So i expect some tough hook matches.
Round is about to start and the big boys are chalking their hands. Lets see how this old wolf will do against the European Monster. They can not get their grip and it goes to the ref's grip. Zolcinski receives one foul on ref's grip for bringing his shoulder in before the go. Zolcinski just dominates his opponent with a side move. To be honest it was much easier than i expected it to be.
Second round Mike Gould shows some resistance near the pin pad as Zolcinski did not rush for the pin. Zolcinski looked comfortable but Gould stopped him twice near the pad. Still the strength difference looked big.
Round 3 Zolcinski has the hand control and Mike tries to fight back with arm strength but Zolcinski controls Mike's pronator with shoulder press to unable Mike's bicep resistance.
Round four goes with a flash pin for Zolcinski with an inside move. Mike Gould seems like he can not enter the match as Zolcinski's hand and wrist unables Mike to get to where he wanted to be.
Round 5 Zolcinski just wants to have a war and allows Mike to get into his best position then he realises that Mike is not a joke. Mike seems to be powerful enough to trouble Zolcinski once he can apply what he has. Zolcinski tried to toproll Mike but Mike resisted good enough to protect his wrist. Then Zolcinski used his pronator in adefensive way and apply a high hook to bring the match to the neutral position and then pinned Mike after some seconds to bring the score to 5-0.
Round 6 Zolcinski forced the match toproll and finally toprolled Mike after near 15 seconds and Mike found the solution to slip and strap. In the strap Zolcinski again forced the match for a toproll while Mike applied kind of shoulder pressure. Zolcinski could not toproll Mike but he did not allow Mike to curl his wrist either. Once Mike's pressure was out of gas Zolcinski pinned him for 6. time to win the Vendetta 6-0.
Zolcinski was clearly the stronger puller tonight and he proved that he is ready to face some of the very best pullers in the world. It is not so easy to judge him by his performance against Mike Gould but he surely is a dangerous puller for most of the pullers who are ranked above him.
