In the last Vendetta a couple of lightweights Vazgen Soghoyan - Hristo Delidzhakov made a top-roll master-class. ()
It seemed, there were nothing to expect from couple but Vazgen Soghoyan denied this and showed the highest level of training - both physical and psychological. Apparently, he was not even tired too much:
"After the fight I feel fine. My hand feels normally and without pain. Recently I even held a training session with Denis Tsyplenkov, Dmitry Silaev and Scot Mendelson.
I am very happy about the result of the fight. Honestly, I had expected Hristo to win at least two rounds, but at last moment, my spirit was really fighting. I expected severe and long rounds, but the most difficult was the second round. I tried to stay on the right positio and be prepared for long defense too. It happened that Bill Collins is the head referee the match, Hristo is a world-class referee, I have Junior level and a lot of experience in refereeing in America, and Reza Dilmaganyan viewed in the monitor. Here you have four referees on one match. And the match was cool!"
Many experts say that the level of Vazgen and Hristo approximately equal in strength. Is the point in technique?
"Hristo is very strong and intelligent athlete. He fought to the end and his knowledge of refereeing make him a formidable opponent. He was in good shape, I think.
If we talk about technique, Michael Todd makes slightly different move, he works with triceps more, and Hristo is hanging on the opponent's wrist. It’s very uncomfortable. I think during the match he must also be able to make decisions quickly or nothing happens.
During my training, I worked on endurance, become drier. In addition, during the fight trying to breathe correctly to get more oxygen. I tried to recover quickly directly in fight. I think I did it".
Despite his satisfaction with struggle, Vazgen would like to change some points:
"If it were possible to replay the match, I would have tried to win quickly, in one fast move. Or then Hristo would start his game and I have a long time to get out".
Vazgen didn’t estimate other contenders, but he shared his thoughts about fights:
"All couples have surprised me. I thought Christian Binnie win at least two rounds, Dmitry Silaev and Dmitry Trubin too. But all saw how it happened. I gave 60% for Denis Tsyplenkov and was almost at hand. All were unpredictable. "
I think everyone wants to see the skill of Vazgen at the table again. When will it happen?
"I'm preparing for Worlds. I’ll go to Bulgaria. I want a medal. I will prepare hard!"
