Among the Ukrainian athletes there are such big names as Andrey Pushkar, Dmitry Beskorovainyi, brothers Babayev and others. These athletes have already won their place in the history of Ukrainian armsport, but there is also the younger generation, which can pull at the highest level and show excellent results.

On one of these athletes, Michael Gavronsky, we have been told already. Now we'll discuss the student of Andrey Pushkar - Igor Paseka. Strat of his  sports career looked pretty corny, he started to fight on the school desk:

"I started doing arm-wrestling at age 15, when I was in my first year of college. My friend invited to the gym. In our small town actually it had nothing to do, but there was Andrey Pushkar’s gym, which I was lucky enough to get there. I loved to pull since high school, we always fought with my mates and I won all of them and even high school students on the left hand".

However, after coming to the gym, past achievements "of the school struggle" was not enough to overcome the more experienced guys. But it did not last long:

"When I went to the gym for the first time, I just wanted to train for myself. I lost almost all users of the hall, but after a few months of training, I made a serious competition for them, especially for that people, who was in arm wrestling for several years, and I do not even know how to make a grip properly".

Igor’s first serious competition was Western Ukraine Cup, where he finished second and third place. And today he is a champion of Ukraine, the European and World Championships.

Last months Igor did not participate in competitions due to injury. He missed the national championship and will miss the international amateur starts this season:

"I am not getting ready for a competition and do my workouts just for tone. At the moment, I feel myself like below average. Due to the fact that I did not train properly, I had to miss the championship of Ukraine. It would be possible to prepare for the European Championship, but for this purpose it was necessary one more place in the team and there were problems with financing. When exactly I will pull the next time I can not say".

We asked Igor about his attitude to the professional sport and the desire to try his hand at Złoty Tour, as the organizers want to see him in the list of participants:

"For professional sport I'm good. I believe that armwrestling is high time to move to a new level. Professional World Cup Zloty Tour is a very good tournament, the best of all that I saw. I think every athlete wants to there, and I'm not an exception. I would like to try my hands hand at this tournament. If all goes well, this year I will take part in Złoty Tur".

We expect to see the performance of Igor on Złoty Tur. We hope that he will show a decent level of fight against experienced professionals.
