We've just learned that the top athlete of Ukraine had an accident. As Artem Taynov told us he slipped and injured his left arm! The arm had to be immobilized and then rehabilitation will be required.
This means that Artem will not be able to compete in the World Chmpionships in September.
Taynov is very worried about the whole situation as he was in preparation for the competition in Gdynia and was hoping to win a few medals. Maybe he will manage to recover and take part in the NEMIROFF WORLD CUP 2013 in Warsaw in November?
Artem, may you recover soon!
Take care.
Will Artem's injury affect the situation in the 90 kg class at this year's championships?
A lot will change here, for sure.
Let's take a look at the results of the European Championships held in May.
Bulgarian - Stoyan Golemanov is hoping to take first place, left arm. With Artem not taking part in the competition, Stoyan will certainly find it easier to win. Obviously, each athlete would rather fight and win instead of taking advantage of his rival's injury, but that's how things are.
Who else will stand on the podium?
Feel free to speculate aboute the results in this category and post your comments on our forum.
We'll give the details of Artem's accident later on.
