Our Friend and Expert was very busy in Moscow. What's his opinion about the whole show? Let's read his comment.

Hi David, Armpower.net would like to ask you a few questions. Have you ever been to Moscow?

David: Yes 4 times now.

Did you like it there?

David: Yes. I come from London, so I am used to big cites. I love Moscow’s big grand buildings, beautiful monuments, and their metro is fantastic.

What's your opinion about referees' work duiring the A1?

David: They are very disciplined, all in perfect uniforms. When there is not a match on their table, they do not leave the table to watch other matches. This gives a very good professional look to the competition. What was the level of their work? As I was refereeing myself I did not get to see how all the referees where working, but the ones I did see were good. The problem I have is as this is a professional competition, the referees have to go by the guidance of the show organizers, and we were given instructions to allow small fouls, so sometimes it looks like the referees are not doing their job well, but this is not always the case. I don’t approve of doing this.

The organizers claim people want to see pins not fouls ending matches. Igor Mazurenko (in my opinion the best prompter in Armwrestling) knows a thing or two about running competitions, and he does not approve of such instructions either. So the referees do not do this at the Nemiroff and that is a very popular competition indeed.

How do you find the level of the A1?

David: Overall the competition was very good, it had a lovely stage setup, was well run, had no problems and a good sporting atmosphere with many of the very best competitors in the world taking part. I have not seen what it looked like on the Internet.

Which competitor made the biggest impression on you?

David: Dennis, he is always a gentleman at the table and defeated all opponents with relative ease. Even the mighty Andery Pushkar had no answer to him.

And what do you think how long Denis will remain undefeated?

David: For a long time judging by his performance in the A1, although he still has some top opponents he has not met yet. It is difficult to imagine someone beating him in his current form. As PeSzy said, (“Dennis the Destroyer!”) Cyplenkov could stay on top for a long time.
