Mazurenko: Bans are unacceptable! # Armwrestling # Armpower.net

Every now and then, conflicts of interest arise between the organizations. Someone forbids someone from doing something. Is it normal? Unfortunately, YES! There is nobody to solve these issues in our world. Even if there was a "World Sports Court", they wouldn't have the power to execute their verdicts. This is how it is and how it will be. ()

The only thing that could possibly stop WAF's bans is the public opinion of WAF members around the world. So easy! WAF members should check if bans are mentioned in their organization's policy statement.Where can they read the policy? On their website? No!They should ask WAF for the policy instead of getting angry for no reason. Then, they should read it.If it doesn't mention the bans...Then they can aleays change it.The policy statement wasn't read by any court if it allows bans and disqualifications like this. But there has to be at least a stamp on it. Read the stamp and find out which court allowed it.

Opinions of important people. I invite you!

Igor Mazurenko:

A true democracy is absolutely necessary in our sport. Everyone should be able to participate in all events they want to take part in. Bans and disqualifications are unacceptable, in my opinion. The people who do it know that it's bad for the sport and they should take full responsibility for the consequences of their actions.

Raimonds Liepiņš:

Armwrestling has never been in a better position than it is now. Both amateur and professional level. We have all the best athletes constantly having matches with each other. And it is mostly because of the passion of Engin Terzi. We have a huge platform where we can show our heroes to the rest of the world. I understand not everyone will be happy, not everything is always fair and you might not get what you want or deserve. But that's life. Everyone has a right to compete where ever they want. But if there are rules for competing, you can`t complain; if you make a choice, some doors shut. And if someone "warns you" about something that can happen, those are not threats.

Sometimes choices are hard. Sometimes they are out of our control. But I do believe everything can be talked about and negotiated if there is a will to find a compromise. Stay strong and Love Armwrestling.

Leonard Harkless:

So here is my take on the current version of WAF. I will remind everyone that this is the second version of WAF. The original WAF attempted to strong arm Canada that had the bid for the championship and removed them as the host and gave that championship to another country. Canada held the event anyway and a second WAF was born. Sounds familiar... since that is exactly what happened to Poland when Assen tried to blackmail Poland into giving up half of the money collected from URPA point system. "You will give me half or I will take away the championship". When that didn't work, the next step was to ban the Zloty announcer and all of the referees. Then advertised the athletes that attend would be banned. Facing this country's got together and formed IFA. IFA was not. nor will it be an Mazerenko organization, he is not on the executive committee and holds no position in the organization. When an dictator takes everything away you have no choice but to start over. Are the numbers as large as the current form of WAF?.....No but neither was the new WAF compared to the old WAF for a few years, will we pass up the WAF? Yes we will and huge improvement has already been achieved from just a few years ago. Team USA has over 80 actual armwrestlers going to Greece.......how many went to Moldova? Canada will have 6 times the pullers that went to WAF. When your organization will not follow their own constitution and have no consideration for the rights of the pullers and officials, they left us no other options.
