Do you know it? Read on! # Armwrestling # Armpower.net

Many of you are very familiar with this place. Rumia, a city in Poland, which for many years has been the talk of top armwrestlers around the world. Rumia and the World Armwrestling Cup "Złoty Tur." Many of you have experienced great emotions there. Rumia... A city in Poland. ()

ATTENTION!

I'm posting this article about a new club in Poland on the English version of Armpower on purpose. On purpose, to show everyone amidst all the chaos in our sport that the work continues! There are new athletes, new coaches, new clubs. Armwrestling is alive!
Rumia in armwrestling and armwrestling in Rumia...

The prestigious Złoty Tur World Armwrestling Cup reached Rumia in the autumn of 2015. The next edition of the Cup took place the following year (2016), also in Rumia, and it also included the 2nd Armwrestling World Cup for the Deaf & Disabled.

In 2017, again in the fall, we could already write "as usual" or "cyclically" about yet another Złoty Tur in this seemingly ordinary MOSIR hall, transformed for a few days into the Temple of Armwrestling.

Athletes, coaches, and referees from all over the world have grown used to and fond of the Host City of Złoty Tur.

Then came 2018, and with it the tragedy. On his way to the tournament, our friend and Grandmaster Andriy Pushkar passed in an accident.

A sporting celebration, joy, and mourning at the same time. The entire armwrestling community had to endure this. Again, the MOSIR hall, lights, music, "the show must go on"...
Then the world faltered a bit, but in 2019 we returned to Rumia for the 1st IFA World Championships and another Złoty Tur.

Once again, Rumia hosted the IFA European Championships in 2022.

A new club in Rumia! An "old" name, but a new club!

Konrad Krawczuk: My own club!

For now, they have a garage and lots of equipment. So, in this particular city, everything will soon be set in motion, and they will be able to invite people to the first training sessions. "Złoty Tur Rumia" will soon be listed in our club database.

Konrad has been an athlete for a long time, since the first era of Polish armwrestling.

He learned to train under Igor Mazurenko in Poland's first armwrestling club, "Złoty Tur"!
However, here is an IMPORTANT NOTE!

Złoty Tur Gdynia!

Now, in Rumia, a new, entirely separate club called "Złoty Tur" is being formed. It’s not a branch, not a franchise, but a separate club. The formalities are currently being processed, but at the upcoming Polish Cup (in Rymanów, as far as I know), athletes from this club will be participating.

Why Rumia? Why Konrad?

Rumia is a unique city where many initiatives proposed "online" manage to be turned into REALITY! The residents and local authorities respond, and there are results.

Konrad is also active in social initiatives, including the Facebook group "Tata w mieście Rumia" and various other projects supporting local entrepreneurship, for example, through the business.rumia.eu portal and his brand www.chcedointernetu.pl.
As I learned from our conversation, he has "always" wanted to have his own club where he could train future athletes. I also know that many former athletes living in the area have expressed interest in training at Złoty Tur Rumia.

For now, they have a garage and lots of equipment.

The city authorities have pledged their support, so soon there will probably be a proper location for the club, most likely at the MOSIR Hall.
The place where the heart of world armwrestling has already "pounded" many, many times.

Mateusz Grotha

Another resident of Rumia, Mateusz Grotha, is helping Konrad organize the club’s activities and this initiative might not have happened at all without his support. Mateusz is known to the world or sports from a completely different discipline, as he is an active BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) athlete, but it’s well known that once someone tries armwrestling, they stay in it forever.
You can start following the activities of the Złoty Tur Rumia club on Facebook: Złoty Tur Rumia, where news about dates and locations of the first open training sessions will also be posted!

And take a look at the photo from the picnic in Rumia, featuring the Trainer and Referee "Sosna" Maciej Sośnicki. He leads sessions at Złoty Tur Gdynia but has declared "close cooperation" with the Rumia club in the future!

Great things will come from this!
