Armpower: What the international tournament Nemiroff World Cup is for you?
Rafał Woźny: Nemiroff World Cup tournament is a huge challenge for me, I will be able to verify myself with the best in the world.
Armpower: Is this your debut?
Rafał Woźny: Yes, this is my first start at the event of such a high rank. I have trained Armwrestling for 2 years (so for relatively short time) and I have already got a chance of starting at the World Cup. It's a great honor.
Armpower: Do you think you can manage to get on the podium in your weight class? Whom do you fear most in this weight class?
Rafał Woźny: At the moment I do not know who will come to Nemiroff and who will fight at my weight. I only know my four Polish rivals who present a very high level and are more experienced in terms of take-offs on such events.
I am mostly afraid of Dawid and Radek, because I lost the last fights with them. For sure I will try to do my best, but I may be to week for the podium. I have both hands on the same level, and which one will turn to be better depends on my luck and the disposal of the opponents.
Armpower: How does your preparation training look like?
Rafał Woźny: My training looks the same throughout the year. I do the same exercises, at the same time intervals, so 3 times a week. I only have a break before and after the tournaments, their length depends on the rank of the event (but no longer than 6 days). I train at home and in the club with Robert Leszko. I do typically armwrestling exercises which are mainly sparings, I do not focus more on any of the exercises. I try to increase the load gradually if it possible, and for now they are not really impressive.
Armpower: What about a diet and supplementation?
Rafał Woźny: I do not use any diet or supplementation. I just try to eat fine, for now I see a progress, so as of yet that’s enough for me.
Armpower: Who do you think will win the open class?
Rafał Woźny: It seems to me that Denis Cyplenkow. For the left hand will win for sure, and for thr right hand he may only lost with John Brzenk, but this year I bet on Denis.
Armpower: Who from the Polish team has the biggest chances for medals?
Rafał Woźny: I believe that the greatest chances have those competitors who have already won medals. The exception is Dariusz Wisniewski (I think we'll see him on the podium), and apart from him, Rafał Fiołek, Dawid and Piotr Bartosiewicz, Lucjan Fudała, Dariusz Muszczak and Grzegorz Nowak. Marlene Wawrzyniak can also perform an interesting show.
Armpower: How can you encourage fans to come to the Nemiroff World Cup on the 5th and 6th November?
Rafał Woźny: If you have such a possibility, do not waste it! I’m glad that I can see the strongest people in the world live. Certainly there will not lack of emotion and surprises!
