Discoveries of World Armwrestling championship. ()

Frankly, much of what happened at the XXXVI World Championship Armwrestling in Vilnius, surprise me. It was quite expected that Russia took the team gold or Gabriela Vasconcelos rose on the first step of the podium in 70 kg, but there were miracles. I'll try to describe my impressions by giving "rewards" for the most spectacular fights.

Nomination "Junior of the Championship".  Perhaps, all agree that a victory in this category can be given to the 17-year-old Bulgarian athlete Sasho Andreev. There was not a shred of doubt that he would take the gold on both hands in his age category. I didn’t pay attention to the fact that he won a senior left hand. But when Sasho pulled at the last day of the championship, all who were in the hall were sincerely surprised. Bulgarian twice won Vadim Akperov and took home four gold medals and admiration.

It is necessary to notice about Imeda Chincharauli of Georgia. He participated in three categories (2 junior and 1 senior) and earned three medals, one of which is silver and two are gold.

Nomination  "Woman of the Championship". In this category I will give preference to the most eccentric participant of the championship - Brazilian Crhis Reigane Souza. Despite the quirks on the last championship in Gdynia she took part in six categories (disabled, masters and senior on both hands) and took five medals. At this time the pedestal was left without Chris only once out of four times: the Brazilian has won two gold and one silver.

Also I would admit Antonina Lissyanskya from Kazakhstan, which made an undisputed champion of the category 80+ Egle Vaytkute a little nervous.

Nomination "Man of the Championship." To be honest, it was very hard to choose. So the sportsman was heavy too. Levan Saginashvili, Georgia. Apparently, nobody expected victory from him but at the same time all demanded that he won, and Levan did not disappoint us. During his fight at the right hand with Georgi Cvetkov air in a hall was almost electrified!

But I cannot ignore the "hero of the day" of competition – Khadzhimurat Zoloev. At this championship Khadzhimurat won Worlds tenth gold. Despite the fact that medals were absent, he received a medal of his own creation.

Nomination "Team of the Championship". This category for some reason was simple to me. Teams from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Kazakhstan were consistently good. I was surprised when I saw the second place of Georgia junior team at score list, so that’s why they became a discovery for me.

The final nomination which logically arises from the previous one is "Fans of the Championship." Here I will not be limited to one team and name three: Slovakia (they started to support first), Italy (they sang their national anthem during the awarding in very loud way) and again Georgia (because they were shouting loudly behind me).

I'm sure not everyone will agree with my choice, so I invite to discuss options in the comments. What do you think, who was the best?
