He’s lost, but he still feels stronger than Janek and more well-rounded. He wants another chance to fight. ()
They met at the table in Las Vegas, at the Armfight #43. On 12th of July Harold “the Viper” Owens met Polish armwrestler Janek Żółciński.
- I felt in control of the fight, the whole time – says “the Viper”. – But from the technical side: I have to keep my elbows down. Janek pushed me off the pad a couple of times. He won and it was an armwrestling move, but I do have some doubts as to this rule. I had control in this match, but he pushed my elbow off the pad. He’s a pusher, an inside fighter, and I fight outside. So when he pushes down, I push up. That’s why we had so many elbow fouls.
Owens lost, but he doesn’t feel like a loser.
- I feel like I’m the stronger fighter, more well-rounded – he says. I congratulate Janek on his win, but I hate losing on technicalities and fouls.
He did it but I still feel good. I gave my best and that’s enough for me. And fans coming up to me, congratulating me, having pictures with me – that was great! I feel good and I hope for another chance to fight.
But before the fight …
- The energy was amazing – says Harold. – I felt confident, up to the task. I had a lot of power and as was apparent in a couple of rounds, I gave it all. Energy like this, used 100%, comes with practice. When you take a break and try to come back, it’s like art, it can go many ways.
What are his plans now?
- To train harder, I know I can be better – says Owens. – Work on my diet. I have to keep my viper moves, my quick attacks. This is what people want to see.
Owens vs Zolcinski went 2:4.
Armfight #43 took place on 12th July, Sunday, 15 – 18 at the Vinyl Club in Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
