Alex got a title of the strongest Polish on the left hand this year. Did he realized his potential on Zloty Tur? ()
Alex, you was at first on Zloty Tur. What is your opinion about it?
Now I am on my first professional championship in Rumia, Poland. This competition are marked for me as they are really professional. The difference between them and any amateur nationals is so big as between nationals and regionals. Sportsmen are very qualified, they sharpen every element of their armwrestling technique. It’s not just fights at the table, but before it. It is psychology. Everyone who wants to win firstly has to win himself in his head and try to do all his best. The smallest difference while gripping can decide everything.
You can have great experience only here. The biggest value is to feel power of the strongest pullers, like Andrey Pushkar. Also I admitted Dmitry Tubin from Kazakhstan, Dmitry Silaev from Russia, Armen Chapukhyan from Armenia, who was second in heavy category. And I cannot even say that somebody is weak, it’s interesting to fight with everyone. Everybody gets his own technique. Zloty Tur is a great opportunity to get unforgettable experience. This is real challenge!
How long have you been doing armwrestling?
Almost two years. I first tried to "fight" with mates at school, but I cannot say that it was armwrestling. Then I was the strongest and in seventh grade and won boys from high school. And from the moment I realized that I can do armwrestling. But honestly I didn’t do it yet. I spoke with Aleksey Voevoda, and he said that I have a good base, and I need to do special exercises. Now I want to see how I can become stronger, if I will do not just general excersises, but special armwrestling.
Once I took part in the Ukrainian Cup and the championship. Once I even had a fight with Andrey Pushkar. Then I became second in our category. Then I came here in Poland and tried to find something about armwrestling. Then guys found me and we went to the championship. Suddenly I won the strongest Polish man – Nathan Kajdas. Then I was invited to the club where I started little by little to train, I won the championship of Poland and Polish cup. Then I come here.
I finished seventh on left hand, thus lost the guy who was the second, an Armenian, and won two fights. They was interesting and heavy. I didn’t do that in one touch. I think such events could make everyone to progress. It is this struggle that increases your personal level as an armwrestler.
